100 Years Celebration

Overview

The 100 Years of Maria Montessori Celebration was an two part event held at the University of Houston, Main Campus on October 6, 2007 and was attended by over 200 people.  The Global Village was a fun family festival that consisted of 10 cultural huts representing cultures from around the world including North America, France, Italy and Saudi Arabia.  Throughout the day, attendees were treated to stage performances from Grammy Award Nominee, Dave Rudolf and Performing Artist Rebekah Loeweke.  Andrea White kicked off the event with a stage presentation to the sponsors and walked thru the grounds perusing all the fun huts and was amazed by the exhibition detailing the life of Maria Montessori. The evening show was an amazing cultural performance with the highlight being a cirque du soliel performer who enchanted the guests were here aerial feats.  Other performances include an African drummer band, a Brazilian dance ensemble and the spectacular, breath-taking performance by the Chinese Dragon stilt walkers.

Celebrity Chef Benefit

Overview

The 26th Annual Celebrity Chef Benefit benefiting the Escape Family Resource Center was held on April 12, 2007 at the Benihana restaurant.  This fun event was highlighted by Debbie Reynolds, famed move star and was attended by several local celebrities including Lynn Wyatt, Ceron, Miya Shay and many more.

Coordination Efforts included:

July 4th Celebration

Overview

The first annual Silverlake Homeowner’s Association July 4th celebration was a fun family day complete with a bicycle parade, lots of games and activities and petting zoo.

 2006 ISES Awards Show

Overview

The Houston Special Events Awards Dinner was held in Houston, Texas, July 30, 2006, was an incredible evening honoring the best in Houston's special event industry. During the evening, the 250 guests were entertained by the Three Waiters, who surprised the guests with song after pretending to be waiters. The theme “Shape of Things to Come” incorporated the colors black, white and bronze and fun shapes throughout the room. The diamond-shaped stage and rounded screens helped to solidify the theme. The most amazing part of the evening was the live web broadcast, which could be seen around the world and continues to be a live link.

Search Cabaret Fundraiser

Overview

The 9th Annual Search Cabaret show was held in Dallas, Texas in association with The Special Event. This event was a unique fundraising opportunity involving members of the special event community as the entertainment. A mixture of amatuer and professional talent delighted the guests and helped raise $70,000 for the organization.

Sports Awards Dinner

Overview

This sports award dinner distinguished itselt as the first non-sport related event held on the floor of the Reliant Stadium. Honoring the outstanding college lineman of the year, 1200 guests were treated to an evening of dinner and entertainment. Former President George H.W. Bush served as Honorary Chairman and Guest Speaker. The guests were awed as the Texans mascot repelled 300 feet from the rafters to hand President Bush the winner's envelope. The event raised over $300,000.

Houston Special Event Awards Show

Overview

The 2004 Houston Special Events Awards Dinner, held in Houston, Texas, on September 19, 2005, was an incredible evening honoring the best in Houston's special event industry. During the evening, the 200 guests were entertained by a soul group, the emcee, a local dance troupe and the synchronized waiters from the Hilton Americas Hotel. The evening served to showcase the talents of some of ISES Houston members, present the special events awards, honor the local convention bureau president for his industry contributions and also served as a chapter fundraiser. All four purposes were executed with the ease and futuristic style only Houston's best could produce. This event raised over $35,000 and was a success for the small organization.
